So far, that HTC is manufacturing the Nvidia Tegra K1 powered device and that it’s bound for a possible October 16th release in tandem with the new Android L is what’s known. We now have what is possibly the first look at the device courtesy @Upleaks on Twitter. What’s more, the device has reportedly received approval from the FCC which hints at an imminent launch cementing the October 16th date. In comparison to earlier tablets in the Nexus range the device has a much more squarer form factor and is seen sporting Nexus and HTC branding on the back panel. A matte back panel houses the camera along with flash and what seems to be a micro USB port. The device’s hardware is reported to feature a Tegra K1 processor as a highlight along with an 8.9 inch display, QHD resolution, and a solid 2GB of RAM. The device’s cameras are expected to be 8MP on the rear with optical image stabilization and a 3MP front shooter. The device is expected to be the first to feature Android L out of the box owing to its flagship status for Android. The newest iteration will see a new Material Design theme concept across the operating system. Eyes still rest on OCtober 16th for full confirmation.
