North Hollywood’s Maurice Sendak Elementary School students are finishing this school year having benefited from receiving a complete arts education all year. And now the students’ artwork is on display for everyone to see at a local restaurant. The school’s arts education program is sponsored by the nonprofit organization Arts in Education Aid Council Inc. Maurice Sendak is one of the only schools in Los Angeles Unified where students receive visual-arts instruction every other week throughout the school year. Students at Maurice Sendak Elementary are having their own art show at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 6309 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood through the end of August. For more information about the Arts in Education Aid Council, visit www.aieac.org or call (818) 705-8758. Rafael Herrera is the owner of the McDonald’s restaurant where the student art show is on display.
